Nice bow Kelly. Sure got a mean twist to it, which really makes it a character bow!

Good to hear you got your bow Beyazit. Dealing with customs can be very difficult.

Bow looks real nice Kelly, the dark brown leather works well with those skins.

I got my tips put on and a tight to the belly string put on mine. String is tracking well so I think the heating has worked. Serious tillering will start tonight. Lot of hours working over next 5 days and some domestic issues to deal with so progress may be slow, unless the tillering goes smoother than normal. I'll keep you all posted on the progress.

Oh man! I'm up north ......

I think I need to spend more time working on a bow and less time waiting for one.

Tillering is coming along, need to make a new tiller string for it and figure out how to brace it lol.

Bow is around 68+" and 70lbs with 3" reflex maybe and I'm having a bear of a time getting a string onto it .... Need longer arms.

I'm even farther north!
Hey Ben, don't make the same mistake as I did trying to string a real heavy bow. I stepped through to string it and When I got the string on, I couldn't get the bloody thing off my leg. At least there was no one around to see.    :knothead:    :o

Man, I'm just waiting for my recipient to do his part. I truly enjoy making a bow for someone who doesn't know who it's coming from even more than I enjoy receiving my bow. And with the bows I've been getting, that's saying something! Turns out waiting to be able to send it off has been harder than I would have imagined. I hope he pulls through and I can mail this thing soon!

Finally got the finishing touches on my trade bow, it goes in the mail tomorrow.  Hopefully the new owner likes it as much as some of my friends.   One friend even liked it enough to request I make another one for the intended recipient give him this one.  He will get one as close as possible to this one from the sister stave.  Specs are: 66” (+/-3/4”, can’t remember for sure and don’t have a tape with me), 47# @ 29”, osage with really thick growth rings (the widest I have ever worked), Antelope horn tip overlays, bison leather grip with a floppy rest.

Anyway here are a few pictures:

The broadhead used, regardless of how sharp, is nowhere as important as being able to place it in the correct spot.
