Shoveled out animal pens all day ... Not the way to spend a snowy day or any other.

Now it's just waiting for the food .... Wings, guacamole, and homemade pizza ....

Bow party last night.

Look Mom, no gloves.

Kenny gluing up a bow and Jerry doing some final sanding.

Kenny's bow all glued up.

Jerry's first shot out of his first bow. Tiller looks good for his first bow build.

Shawn, I've been there. If I let it get bad I start to hear about it.

Went out to clean up the bench but before it was done there was suddenly this oak board bow blank in the vice??!!  Not sure how that happened.  Wife came out to the garage and pointing at the bench says "are you going to clean that up?".  With a perfectly straight face I answered "I already did, that's a whole new mess!".

Weather is so nice today.  Took a few pics of the project and will try to put them up...eventually.

Here are a few pics of this oak pyramid.

Pyramid is a design I like to play with and boards are so dang inexpensive that it makes for a dandy experimentation medium.

Not classy like so many of you all build, but kinda fun.

This is the board with a walnut block glued up for the riser.  Did this months ago.

A look at the board.  You can see it is not ideal and will probably need a back.

Lay out at the tips.

rough riser shape.

starting to look like a bow.

Elm tip overlay glued up with TBIII.  Wonder if it will stay on?  In the past these have been attached with epoxy or super glue.

Roughed out string nocks.

on the tillering stick.  I have yet to build one like Roy and Bowjunkie showed us, but it's in the works.

Thats as far as it will be drawn until it is backed.  Could be tomorrow or next month!

Looking good, Monterey.  I'm sure not trying to talk you out of backing your bow, but that grain looks pretty straight to me.  Also makes me want to make a pyramid bow one of these days.
I have to check out this thread more often 'cuz you guys are posting  great bows on here.
Kinda disappointed in Roy, though.  I thought for sure he was going to claim that his group was from 30 yards.   :)
It's hard to make a wooden bow which isn't beautiful, even if it's ugly.
