Found her on craigslist for a good to me price 1k. I think getting a trailer big enough to make her mobile will cost me more, but I think it will give me a few more options for bow wood.

Holy smokes! That's awesome and makes my Alaska Mills look pretty lame. And $1k is phenomenal as well. I've got some serious jealousy going on right now.

You're jealous! The only way to have a bigger saw than that is to buy a saw mill...... Oh yeah! there's one for sale on the other side of town.

My buddy bought the big dog 40 hp Kubota Wood-mizer saw about 12 years ago. It has a seat and you ride on it every cut. Thing is mean!

Built the wooden frame for my reproduction Qing style quiver and started sewing the pockets by hand.

Incidentally, today I stop all opiates for pain.  I'm going to hit a rebound effect hard, but I'm hoping the new pain control regimen will end up with me healthier.

Good luck Ed, it's always good to hit a milestone in recovery.

What's a Qing style quiver look like?

This isn't recovery, to the contrary I'm worse.  But I can get myself feeling as good as possible even though there's no cure or treatment.

Yeah, they're neat aren't they?  My 'glass Qing bow should make it in soon.  Then I have to build a bow case and archer's belt.

DU3 came down to the shop because she wanted to help me spread epoxy today. So we had a whole lesson on what epoxy is and how it works compared to regular glue. 4 hours later, she came back down and we took the 5 risers out of the oven. Then we cleaned the glue off of one, squared it up and cut it out on the bandsaw so she could see how it would look. Pretty cool.

Best part of the day is my wife wanting to buy me some new tools from Grizzly for the shop. She's a CPA, so tax season means she's flush with cash and feeling guilty about leaving me in charge of the home front on my own. I think I might be the only guy around who loves tax season!

Also got some other projects moved forward in the shop. Plan is to go hunting tomorrow morning for the first time since January. Can you believe it's still deer season here? Doesn't make 'em any easier to get. They're all nocturnal and smarter than me.

Well I drove 5 hours to go pay for and pick up my new saw, there was too many problems no blade guards, tensioner broken, track bent, guides and log dogs missing along with a list of other problems. I was fairly disappointed to have to turn down the offer and turn around and drive home empty handed.

Don't blame you.  I don't know the saw you wish for very well, but I understand the parts missing or damaged are vital to its operation.

If you acquired such a saw, would you be able to supply green wood for composite cores?

Yup.  Green wood bends and hide glues better.  I love working green wood anyway.  It cuts so beautifully.

Got together with a "harl" who I met on this site.
Harl, a friend of his, and myself went out to an indoor range that is just up the road from me... I had no idea it was even their. I thought I was the only one around these parts that even shoots trad.
Had a great time, meeting, and shooting with my new friends, learned a thing or two as well.

Here's the quiver build.  Green wood would benefit me here-I could bend the frames rather than laminating them.

Dang Ralph to bad because I have a trailer that would have worked for you and cheap too. Keep that in mind if you find a better one.
