I just finished gluing up my bow. It went really well, I only dropped 2 glued lams on the floor.     :knothead:
depending on how it turns out, it may or may not become my swap bow.

Got my band saw all taken apart! Need a few parts to get her fully functional but did two oil changes on her today and replaced all the fule and oil accessories. She starts up and runs like a champ.

Went scouting for turkey today with my daughter. We didn't see any turkey signs but still had a great day.

I pulled my bow out of the clamps this morning and discovered that one belly lam split open along the fade ramp. I don't think it's critical, but it's not too pretty.
I'll find a way to fix it though. In the meantime, I have another bow to prepare and glue up today- after I fix a leaky pipe in the basement.

One thing I have found to be useful when shopping for a house. If the seller tells you that he/she is a handy person, run!

Leak's fixed, now it's playtime!   :archer:
One bow to cut to profile, and some bamboo to plane and toast for my next bow. Maybe I'll get the second one glued up tonight.

Well, so much for playtime. I had the bow shaped and the edges radiused and I was stringing it up when a belly lam blew off.
Does padauk need to be wiped down with acetone before gluing? I've never had a problem with it before.

Spend some time on one of my other passions. Building Cane Fly rods and fishing small streams. Fished the bokriver at Gateshead Rhodes South Africa. One of the best small stream regions in the world I would say

Beautiful country. It's on my bucket list.
Was that a brown trout in the first set of photos?

I need some fly fishing soon. It's been awhile. Thanks for sharing!

This afternoon DU2 and I got her new bow in the oven. Her second set of hands definitely made the glue-up thing easier. Unfortunately we won't get a chance to pull it out and look at it until tomorrow evening.

Here she is tightening up the form before inflation:

x2!

As for the form yes, I built it. I quickly realized that a form that stays straight and true and is easy to work with was worth the investment. I have longer tie straps so that I can put in wood inserts with more curvature if I want to make a recurve or something. The wood inserts are easy to make when the metal is taking all the load and swap in and out quickly.
