Robert is that the new gordon glass? Dang nice looking bow.
David very nice bows as usual!
But his bow will remain steady, and his hands will be skillful; because of the hands of the Mighty One of Jacob, because of the Shepherd, the Rock of Israel,  (Genesis 49:24 [NETfree])

Worked a bit on a pair of matching all bocote w/clear glass TD longbows. Will end up about 53@28 and 64"

will take a couple pics when all finished up.

The plan is for bro and I to bloody them up for a couple years, then give em to my 2 boys.....
Stay sharp, Kenny.

The bow came out perfect, the Krystal dull dried nicely. I used the new Gordons glass and it also looks streak free..

While I have been waiting to hear that the clear glass issues are improving I decided to venture into the black glass world for a bit. I still have some sanding and then it is time to spray on a finish.

I put a few arrows through a new longbow I built for a good friend in Ohio.

It's a sweet shooter and silent as a ghost.
64" tip to tip, bamboo back and belly, walnut core and a pretty piece of walnut for the riser. It draws 46# @ 28", but it will likely lose a little weight by the time it's fully shot in.
After shooting the new bow, I strung up a couple of hunting bows for some practice before turkey season.

What do you think? Am I ready to kill my first archery tom?    :)

this is the bow i finished last night. I strung it up and shot a few arrows thru it. It shot super nice , very quiet and dead in the hand at the shot. I delivered it to my hunting buddy and he shot it a bunch before dark... He is going to put a selway slipon quiver on it.

Nice! I love those veneers.
Sorry about the double post. I was having trouble with photo bucket.
Now, if I can get a real tom to hold still like my target.....   :knothead:

Woodcarver - do you glue up your bamboo back and belly bow on similar form to the tri-lam process or a glass bow process? And then I would also assume that your ability to tiller is limited to the kind of tillering done on a glass bow. Is my thinking correct?

I use a form similar to, but not as OK as the one Roy uses. Tillering is limited to sanding the edges and trapping the back and or belly.
