This was the first day in some time I got to work on something for myself. With the rain we're having, it's too humid to put the last bit of finish on my swap bow, so I worked on a little something to send along with it when it does finally go.
Then I worked on a bow that I started a few months ago but set aside because it was way too heavy. I guess the quiet rainy weather put me in the right frame of mind and I carefully scraped and checked and exercised the bow until it came down to something in the 50 + pound range with a nice even tiller. I borrowed a string from another bow and shot some test arrows through it. Boy does it shoot! I was so happy with it that I spent the rest of the day shaping the riser and adding tip overlays.
Tomorrow I'll make a string for it and post some pictures.
Dave.
