Put the last coats of finish on three one-piece recurves this morning. One set up nice, the other two are still tacky on the risers. They are bocote and cocobolo. Anyone have similar troubles? I was finishing them in the garage but brought them into the house where it's a little more temp and humidity controlled. Right now they're hanging from a ceiling fan in the living room  Hope the kids leave them alone. Really need to ship them out in the next couple days.

Had an interesting shift tonight. Got a call for a moose in the downtown area of my city. Found a nice bull moose in a persons back yard. Got out of my cruiser in an attempt to move him in a certain direction... I dunno if he felt cornered or the reflective lettering on my police coat caught his attention but he hunched up and full on charged me. Good thing I got quick feet because that's the fastest I've done a 20 yard dash to get to the other side of my cruiser. Here is a pic of the moose I snapped.
Figured yall get a laugh out of that... Hope I can post it here... On a side note my most recent longbow is ready for the clear to be added tomorrow after I return from helping my buddy track his first archery kill.

If that's not a nice haul for the day I don't know what is. I've only heard rumors of Osage up here in NY ... Consider yourself blessed to have much of it.
Just found out the other day that last year or so ago my father in law had a huge mulberry limb fall at his place .... Cut it up and burned it before I even knew it happened .... Now I give him a list of woods I'm looking for ....

Since I've been doing a bit of scraping, figured I'd take the time to file the cabinet scrapers. It doesn't take all that long and the long ribbons of osage are the result. Now back to the task, eventually well, hopefully, a bow will result.
