I really disliked this bow's strung profile. So I decided to shorten it up a bit but would be waaay heavy. So it sat in the corner for awhile, and yesterday while I was cleaning up in the shop, I decided I needed some fresh sawdust.
So I made a jig to hold her vertical in the bandsaw and marked along the parallel on belly(side away from glass)with a pen. Clamped her to the jig and sawed it in 2 lengthwise. Had to use a wedge to help steady it since the limb was tapered.
The bandsaw takes out .065 kerf and I thought that should make a difference. Plus I wanted to shorten it up a bit to see if the profile improves. Otherwise it would just sit in the corner.
That would be admitting defeat, right? LOL
The jig and the belly glass and parallel clamped back on...
Clamped up 2nd limb
The new glue line, will probably be obvious til I paint it camo....
