Cocobolo and bocote 60"er
« on: July 18, 2015, 08:53:00 PM »
Built this one for a buddy. It's 60" 50#@27". He seems pretty excited to get it even though he's not seen it put together yet. I think it will be one of his first stick bows. I hope it meets his expectations.

No I don't think he will like it all.  In fact you should send it to me.  Actually that is one of the best looking bows I have seen in a long time.  Very nice.  I have got to try the stippling bought the points sometime back but, haven't used them yet.

Beautiful!  Thanks for sharing.  I am in the process of making a bocote/coco one piece recurve now.  It's good to know the woods look good together!

I use a dremal with a diamond burr either 1/16 or 3/32 . I Have tried the cutter type but didn't like them they cut to fast for me. I really like the feel of a stippled grip just don't stipple where the web of your hand goes it will make for some sore shooting.

It was my first with the combo it does really go good together. A lot of people build that comb for good reason. Don't forget some pics when done.

Thanks everyone.Well he picked it up tonight. We took it out and he shot a few arrows most of them found the mark. I think he's hooked and I predict some hero shots in the future.    :)
