deflexed osage recurve 58# at 28"
« on: July 22, 2015, 01:04:00 PM »
Just finished this one up. Made from billets I've had lying around for about 10 years, which came from different trees and are different shades of orange. Which is why I named the bow 'Two Trees'

61" ntn, deer rawhide backed, bocote overlays, and ended up pretty much center shot because of its natural wiggles.

She looks very nice. I bet she's smooth drawing. Can we get a full draw pic

Nice work on a fine looking bow
It's hard to make a wooden bow which isn't beautiful, even if it's ugly.

I will try and get a full draw later. There's never anyone else around to take one for me and iphones don't have a timer for taking pics.

iPhones do have a timer for taking pics! You can also shoot a video, and capture stills by pressing the power and menu buttons at the same time.

Good call Pheonix, I couldn't find a timer on mine but I did do the video screen shot thing.

Also, here's a bunch of other pics...cuz I love this bow.

A full draw at my currently preferred 26" draw.

A better brace pic.

The other side, which better shows the slanted kink coming out the fades in the lower limb.

Before finishing just after I burnished it.

A pic of the two different colored limbs meeting at the splice.

Just a shot I like.

Thanks guys!

The splice is a Z splice, which is the only splice type I use.

Oh it didn't seem like a z slpice, did you add an overlay over it?

That pic of the splice is the side of the handle, not the back or the belly. No overlay.
