BBO Under weight

In the past if a bow was 5 pounds under weight I would cut off a inch and continue.

My question is where does it add stress if cutting of a inch from each end.
Is it mostly closer to the fades?
Should additional tillering concentrate there?

If the bow was well tillered it shouldn't change the tiller at all. The stresses should be evenly distributed too. Most of the stresses on a bow is at the fades anyway.

It will eventually make the tips overbuilt.
A better way to gain a few pounds is to heat treat the belly.

I've done it a few times with hardly any change to the tiller. That was on bows that had very good tiller to start with.

You could also add another thin lam to the belly and retiller. I've done this on a few bows with excellent results.

Will probably go with cutting itmshorter.

Endedmup cutting 1" off each end. Replaced the horn tips.
Should easily make weight now. Still have final sanding.
