Ben, stunning bows!
Question, what do you see in the difference between maple core and hickory? I have been thinking about trying some. I have quite a bit of it cut into lumber.

the only take down i ever built was mounted like yours. i was thinking about threading the holes- and having either a brass or a hardwood plug that would screw into the hole a bit, finishing flush, and that was slotted for a flat screwdriver, .
still havent done it yet- maybe one day

David I couldn't tell a difference in feel when drawing the bows but the hickory appeared to add a bit to the draw weight. Didn't have my new chronograph to compare them before giving them to my friends so can't help you much.
Fujimo thats what I've been thinking about just need to take the time to make a nice set of screw in plugs. Tandy has some nice buttons that could be glued to threaded plugs
