And turned them into these... as much quarter sawn and rift sawn lumber as possible, with 8 selfbow staves, and some flatsawn heartwood for glassbow lams thrown in too. They are just over 6' long and at least 2" thick.

I also have a 40" piece off of the bigger log that I need to split into billets tomorrow. And a 12" piece off the shorter one that I'll split/cut into riser blocks.

Got another tree to cut down yet too. Gonna be busy for a while

Glued up a bow Thursday night and I have the limbs all rough shaped.  Red and gray glass with walnut lams and a myrtle riser.

Found a 4 point shed, and painted part of my turkey bow.
Stay sharp, Kenny.

I broke up my garden spot and fed my honey bees.  Dang it, got stung on the ankle.     :banghead:

And....I saw Kenny's shed he found.

cut some pretty veneers from Walnut Burl and Maple Burl for a set of limbs..had a hard time deciding which to use. I went with the Dark Walnut Burl veneers. I worked on a longbow I shelved last year due to streaky glass..I taped off the riser and limb edges...then mixed some black "trans tint" into some Krystal dull and sprayed the glass with it..it looks good! I will hit it with clear tomorrow..

Today I spotted an osage tree growing on a steep river bank.  I could tell by the bark that it would have thick rings.  It was 15" across and had very young looking bark.

Just as I thought.  They don't get much better than this.

I quartered it up and carried it 40 yards up a 45 degree river bank.  I wouldn't have messed with it if it wasn't for those perfect growth rings.  They made it worth the effort.  I carried the stump out as well.  I put it in front of my garage as an osage decoration.
