I prepped a red-tail boa skin over the weekend and put it on my Cocobolo hunting bow. I am very happy with the results. And I think it has improved my shot! Lol - this was actually a boa that I raised for years and died after a difficult birthing experience. My wife thought I was a little twisted for skinning her out and putting her on my bow but I did!

Spent the weekend in the mountains of northern Pa. Got home and felt something pinching me on the cheek of my butt. Wouldn't ya know I had a deer tick imbedded in my butt. That's the second tick in a year now I've had on me. The wife removed it and I started on an antibiotic right away. I've had two friends get lyme disease and it was very hard for them to get rid of it.

Started collecting the bits I need for a feather burner courtesy of die_dunkelheit

Went to the vape shop to get nichrome wire. Told the guy what it's for. As it turns out, his 14 year old son did archery at summer camp and seems to have been bitten by the bug.

Gave the guy a bunch of archery links, this being one of them.

Looks like there's going to be a bow under the tree this year.

.375 Kenny. After running through the drum sander to even them up, they will be .25, then tapered to .125 at the tip end.

LOL.. Actually I cut them a little thicker to compensate for band saw flaws. Plus with cedar being a lighter softer wood, I'll probably leave them a tad thicker than .25   :)

I did the same thing with some hophornbeam yesterday. Reduced and steamed staves, then sliced some of the cutoffs into quartersawn slats, full and half length for trilams... or whatever. More again today.
