centered glass lam

Black Widow includes a glass lam in the center of their longbows as I just read last night. It adds draw weight of course but what are the advantages? Torsional stiffness? Speed? Anybody tried this?

I've done it with core-tuff glass and carbon. All I noticed is that it adds weight and a pinstripe down the side.

Black Widow puts carbon in their longbow limb core and black fiberglass in their recurve limb core. I assume it is for stability. I have owned a dozen or more of their recurves and I really liked the way they shot.

Gordon makes a product called uniweft it is a glass with fibers running in both directions.  Regular glass is unidirectional.  It is supposed to increase torsional stability and help your limb resist.

Yes, there is a bearpaw stuff called Stabil Core also, not sure whether its a copy cat product off Gordon's. Read different statements about it, most guys who used it did not notice any improvements.

I was just thinking if BW uses it, it must be great    :D
