Redheart in a riser?

I'm planning a Bingham's hybrid for my daughter, probably around 25# at her 24" draw.  I've been thinking about a Bubinga and Redheart riser with an accent strip of 1/8" curly maple between two 1/16" strips of phenolic.  The sight window will be about 1/8" shy of center.  Think Redheart will be strong enough for that?
I've also heard that it doesn't keep that nice, vibrant red color for long.
I'm wondering if any of you have had good or bad experiences using it.

Redheart makes a beautiful riser, plenty strong but will darken a tat over time. I really like it after it darkens.

Blood wood might be another option. It's a very pretty red and plenty strong enough for riser material. And I think it keeps its color pretty well.

I just made a pair of the hybrids using redheart. looks beautiful. I cant say how it will hold up over time (color wise) but I think its plenty strong. Fair warning: I think its the worst smelling wood that I have ever put to the sander.

Thanks for the info, guys.  Akbowman, I just cut some spalted white oak that really stunk.  Hope the redheart doesn't smell worse than that stuff.
