Russian olive build lil advice

I want to try this build ,I cut the 2,1\\2 inch stave it's real straight 6feet long  should I debark ? It really has no bark , and season time ? I've built HICKORY never tried Russian olive , my last hackberry got overtaking by borers as it aged so I need a bow building fix ,and I can't make my self cut Hickory's unless they are in a power line right of way.
