dying bamboo backed bows

I did a new video on youtube showing a couple of new ways I learned to dye the back of a bamboo backed bow.

 

Here's the end result of the two methods:

I didn't watch the video, but the top one looks similar to many of mine.

I was going for shagadelic, but I'll take psychadelic.  :-)  Some people who saw the first one I did thought it could pass for a camo design.

Me, too!  It took me some practice to get that one to work.  You could probably do it with other colours, too, as long as you put the light colour down first, and move to the darker colours.

Very cool video, Sam.  I'm planning a BBO recurve right now.  Love the way the sunburst finish looks.
It's hard to make a wooden bow which isn't beautiful, even if it's ugly.
