I don't think green is ugly, it looks classy!  My thoughts are to do a bow that is green and gold colored.

Now if that Doctor Monday will just give me the okay I'll fling a few arrows with it! I got to admit that the ugly green is not as bad as I thought it might be. Now to begin trying to save up for some Purdy wood and clear glass! I just had to do something in the meantime. Thanks for all the nice comments even if it is Green!

Wow....I didnt know you had this thread going Tony! If you get sick of that (as you call it) "ugly green bow", I'll trade you some nice green cash for it any day of the week....maybe after you make your "pretty" one with clear glass?!?!?!  Id like to have a Jackson bow, and have wanted one since I laid eyes on them!

Doctor removed all restrictions, no treatments, and don't return to him for six months. I will have scans then to be sure nothing returns. So I got to fling some arrows with the green Lizard bow for the first time. Shot great, very quite, feels like 48-50lb but haven't checked yet. I was also surprised at how well my sights (internal ones) stayed close after so much time away from shooting. Only took a few shots to get zeroed in and that was mostly due to my paying attention to other things related to drawing a new bow for the first time. I'm tickled Green!

Gee whiz, that bow is some kinda ugly, Tony. You'd best give it to me so all the locals don't make fun of you. Even the QC dog of yours will be running for cover. Don't embarrass yourself any longer,just send it to me and make something different, OK?    :bigsmyl:

That ugly thing sure did shoot good today so I think I'll keep it around just to see if it can kill an Elk this fall!  I put it on the scales tonight and pulled it to 26 1/2" from deepest part of the grip and it was just before the fifty mark. With holding it and old age eyes the best I could tell it was 48lb. Looked like 49lb on another try, and 50 on another so I'll call it 48lb so it will be easier to draw.

Call it 45 and you will never have any shoulder issues again.....    :thumbsup:
Plus, that's what I shoot. So when you give it to me it will match my others!   :D

No; I'm thinking that this is how it is measured by AMO standards for a 28" draw. The other inch and a half is added for the riser thickness, since some are thicker than others this keeps them all on the same playing field. Hopefully someone will correct me if this is not right or at least word it better.
 So it is 48lb @ 28".

Oh I see! I dont know why I didn't catch that earlier in your post.

In any case, you REALLY should stop calling it ugly, because its actually quite nice looking. I really like it, and is to my eyes one of the best looking bows you've made yet that ive seen.

Test drove it again and I'm already mad at that "Purdy" Green bow. Done cost me a nock!
 
So I shot again with what arrows I had left, not the group I want but having been off shooting for a good while due to illness I'll take it..
