New riser
« on: June 05, 2016, 12:18:00 PM »
You may remember the 2 TDs I built last year, the risers I glued up with some older glue didn't fare too well.

The one bro has is repaired and holding, but mine has sorta failed again, so built a new riser for the limbs.

Here is original riser...

Here is what she looks like now....

Stay sharp, Kenny.

Very nice Kenny. Is that ebony or phenolic?

Fine looking risers and a toss up on which one I like best. I enlarged the picture and that first one was a mighty fine looking riser, but so is this one. I can't vote here, like them both!

Thanks!!

Dale, it is 1/4" phenolic glued up with bocote scales. You can see the glue lines in the sun if you look close.

Think its the matte clearcoat I used on it. The gloss clearcoat never showed em on the last couple.
Stay sharp, Kenny.

Looks good and solid Kenny and I like the contrast.

Nice! I like the second one- the black really compliments the bocote.

The black is great but you might consider going green next time! Lol I know you like green.
