Help! Dings in new recurve finish
« on: June 19, 2016, 02:26:00 PM »

Just noticed yesterday my new A handle bear takedown has some dings in the clear coat,  I guess. Suggestions on quick fixes?  Not really too concerned with keeping it pristine, I just don't want to ruin the bow. Thanks in advance

Use some 600 grit wet dry sand paper to carefully sand away those white edges in the finish. Then touch up with some 0000 steel woo.

I use super glue to seal the holes. I put a dab on the end of a toothpick and spread it into the holes. It might take more than one application to fill a dent. Once the holes are full, best to wait 12 hours till the glue is completely cured, sand even with the surrounding finish. Lightly touch it up with the 0000 steel wool to bring the sheen's together. I then rub the area's good with one of those blue "shop towel" paper towels. Generally, the marks will be very hard to see and will be completely sealed.

Good Luck.
