BBB James Parker Blank
« on: July 07, 2016, 06:53:00 PM »
I got this blank from James Parker at the Tn. Classic, It was 1-1/2" wide x 70" long
He is a great guy, and knows his bow's
Bamboo back and belly, ipe core. The belly is carbonized.
66" NTN
35@28
1-3/8" at the fades and 5/16" at the nocks
Shoots awesome and quite, bare string.

when you scrape the corners you can tell the belly is harder than the back.

It did not have a finish on it like his others so I did it myself.

I don't know what kind of wood the riser is, but when I put shellac on the riser to seal it the grain raised a lot.

Mark, have you ever watched James caramelize bamboo for bellies. You'd think he was burning down the world.
You did a nice job on this blank. I love the back camo design.

are these blanks available online? This bow looks like something I need to have... lol. how much finishing is needed? is it at floor tiller or is it pretty nicely tillered when you get it and just needs to be taken to weight?

Thanks for the info!
