Osage TD
« on: July 27, 2016, 09:04:00 AM »
Just wrapped this one up after a long, long build. Spent more time thinking than tinkering     ;)  . Its 67" ntn and draws 50 @ 28.5. The limbs are Osage sister billets and the I-beam riser is purple heart sandwiched between goncola alves. The skins are broad banded water snake. Clint will be along shortly to post pictures for me. I wouldn't use Photosuckit if my life depended on it!

Thanks for looking guys

That is a whole new genre of bows! The self-limb, exotic handle takedown somethingorother! Wow    :notworthy:

Thanks guys. Its a smooth shooter. A bit heavier mass wise than I'm used to my wood bows weighing, but that's all part of the 3 pc game I suppose. Some day I will make a few more sets of various all wood limbs for it. Maybe even get some glass limbs laid up one day.

The tinkering and thinking shows!

That is a leading edge piece of work.  I think we will be seeing it emulated in the future.

Beautiful design.  Wow... indeed!
It's hard to make a wooden bow which isn't beautiful, even if it's ugly.

13" from tip to tip. I made it as short as I could. I knew my limbs were going to be long(er) and I tried to keep my O/A length respectable by shortening the riser. The limb beds are 3.0" long

Very nice work. Haven't built a takedown in a while but this is inspirational.

Really like that the limbs are self-limbs not laminated.

Benny I personally trust a solid osage self limb more than any combo of laminations and glue. That's just my take on it.
