While woodgallery is down, where to go?
« on: August 09, 2016, 08:50:00 AM »
Troy just told me Wood gallery is gonna be down for a while longer. Where else do you guys go if you need laminations? Nothing I've seen seems to have his same quality and attention to detail.  I was really hopping to get some of his spliced  osage lams for a bow I'm bout to make for my dad's bday in September, now I don't know.
Thanks for the info guys,
Ty

Check out the Wood Vault.  You might need to send an email the website shows everything as sold out but, I just got some from Curt.

I'm gonna take the opportunity to try to build my own veneers I have decided. I got a big block of morado from my local exotic wood supplier. I'm gonna follow the poorfolkbows veneer splice guide. Does anyone else have information or resources on splicing your own lams?

I've chopped up some Osage into a block to splice with the morado, I'm wanting to do something like the crotch splice that troy does on his spliced lams.

This is what I'm gonna go off of I think.

And this is the sander I have built.
