Is the crack in this riser repairable?

Well I've had this bow shelved for about a year and half since I found the crack. I'm curious if anyone would have a second opinion as to wether or not it would be safe to cut out the cracked section and laminate a new piece on to replace it? I would think it would be doable, but I have little experience in this type of thing so I figured I'd ask the experts here.

Here's the crack, it looks as if it's peeling at a few of the laminations.

Could you not drip in some SuperGlue, CA glue and clamp it up?

In the past I have done this with other wood and have found that the CA glue stops the check and is quite strong in tension.

Seeing as it's already broken it may be worth a shot.

I tried some titebond 3, but the glue didn't penetrate very well. I suppose super glue may do better at this. I guess I've just been a little chicken about because of the risk of it blowing up on me.

IMO...  Using wood glue on a joint that already has dried glue in it is a No-No...  Wood glue is made to glue clean wood surfaces...  Now you contaminated the joint even more...  I would have tried to wedge the joint open a little and put some thin CA glue in there and blow it deep with some air, repeat process about three times to make sure you got the glue deep as possible then drip a little more glue on and clamp it...
   If you wanna make sure it doesn't open again wrap it with thin cotton string saturated with epoxy...  Do the same to the other side for aesthetics...

Is that an actionwood riser? If so check it is made by gluing strips of wood together. I've had a riser where the strips were separating in multiple places and wasn't safe to shoot. I did fill the joints with superglue and then drilled and inserted a dozen sheet metal screws cross ways. I still shoot it on occasion with a light set of limbs. I've had trouble with actionwood and will no longer us it anywhere in a bow. One of the few bows I've had blow up was because the actionwood lamination seperated at it's glue joint.

I believe it is Indeed actionwood BenBow, I'm not certain though(I traded for the bow and do not remember exactly what he said it was). But yes it is made by glueing strips of wood together. I'm hoping to avoid screws if possible though and I'm hoping to keep it somewhat aesthetically pleasing. Would cutting out the strips that were separating and replacing that portion of the riser be a risky way to go? Or would be just as if (in terms of strength) someone had laminated the peice on in the initial construction of the riser. Or is actionwood something this should be avoided with?

Goat44 it's hard to tell if what I had was a bad batch and if yours is older it may be better quality. Try the above suggestions and then keep an eye on it.

Here is a pic of a paddleboard paddle that I made...  This sting is more on the course side...  Trust me...  If you wrap it up right that thing is gonna stay together... make sure you sand the riser so it sticks... You could even recess the area a little so the sting comes out level with the rest of the bow...  Good Luck...
