I haven't had a chance to check my stack info yet.
I absolutely don't doubt that at all, but was considering In the context of his 1.5" width at the fades. A true "hill style" is going to be about 1.125 at the fades and about .5 at the tips which would work pretty well with your .005, IMO. But, just my opinion. I have not built any true Hill style bows so my opinion should be considered carefully.
When I build an ASL it has a riser 14" to 18" long, is a full 1.5" at the fades (not so much as.05 under) 66" to 70" NTN, tips at .3 to .35 wide, limb remaining a full 1.5" for two inches beyond the fades and from there following an ever of a circle to the tips. No tip wedge. That formula uses a total thickness taper of .002.
Explaining that just to clarify where I'm coming from with my thoughts on this.
His thoughts on the dimensions with .001 taper and .5" tips seems like it might need more taper.
OTOH, if he used his planned dimensions altering his tips to narrow points he would be headed towards a pyramid. The .001 taper would provide protection from set at the fades but would probably benefit from a tip wedge.
I'm probably way over thinking this!
