Wired up some new lighting in my basement shop. Garage shop has been abandoned after my new bandsaw got surface rust on the table after only 3 days. Basement is a lot better in temperature anyway.
Put up 5 8' 4 lamp fluorescent fixtures. Shop is only 13x25ish so it's pretty bright now. It might be overkill but I got the deal of the century on the lights so what the heck.
Every time I do something in this house I find some disaster left by previous owners. Today it was that the lighting circuit was not grounded and had a 20amp breaker with 14ga wiring. Idiots .... that's all I can say. So several hours later all the wiring is replaced, breaker is properly sized at 15amps .
Next step is to get the bandsaw down the stairs ... it's already taken apart, so just the frame needs to get down there still, but it's pretty big so I'm not looking forward to hauling it down there.
Next up is more wiring, need to put in a 220v circuit for the saw and 2 20amp circuits for other tools. Electrical is much less fun that bowyery.

Will do Al. I wouldn't dream of doing it alone.

After getting everything taken apart I think the frame with motor is around 200lbs. I couldn't believe the weight of that table and the wheels. That table must have been over 50lbs and each wheel had to be 25lbs.

I may take the motor off also, that should take another 50lbs or so off.

Glued up my latest.

Bamboo backed ipe.

As for moving large objects on stairs, quite a few years ago I was involved in moving a piano (upright of course) up to the second floor of a building via the fire escape. I'm lucky to be alive! ;-)

Thanks for the nice comments.  I got the hickory all sanded and smooth and put the black dye job on her.  I think she'll look pretty cool.

Then I grabbed an osage stave and got most of a ring chased out.  Interesting stave.  It might make a bow...might not.

Visuals tomorrow.  Battery's dead  :)

Unclamped my ipe/maple power lam/bamboo from the form - cleaned up the edges - scraped the rind off the 'boo and glued up the pieces for the riser block.

Making a large batch of chilli for dinner & the freezer.

Too early for a beer yet.

Told myself to take a day off from the shop so I snuck out and drilled the locater pins (BMA) then got a haircut, went grocery shopping, and took a nap. Now I look good, fat, and sleepy eyed.

Got the new sage laid out and almost floor tillered.  Got some more cleaning up and then on to the tree.  It's 62" NTN, just a touch over 1" wide.  Going for 45# @ 27".  I'll probably recurve the tips.

Well I got the final couple coats of poly on the hickory and have the osage tillered pretty well to 48# @ 25".  Got a couple inches to fine tune.  Cool little bow!

Yesterday I had some friends over for a day of bow  building.  We had a lot of fun catching up and even got some work done.

We had a pretty good lunch

And I discovered that sticky velcro from an arrow pass makes good replacement eyebrows
