Nice looking bow Roy.  Looks like the pink nugget arrows from Big Jim's - good deals on those!!
Enjoy the hunt!  - Mitch

I did some work to prepare for the warm weather this weekend.  I sharpened the chain on my old homelite XL-12, roughed out a few bows on the band saw, and made a new log sled.

I'll be there Max.

Here is one of the bows I cut out today.   Should be an interesting challenge.

I'll narrow the width around the knots as much as I can and I plan on making the tips very narrow and light.  I'm hoping it isn't to bad.  I've made holey bows before and they shot fine.

scrub-buster, if you make a nice shooter out of that stave, I'm might just hand up my bow making tools and leave this hobby to the experts.

Mad Max, do you remember what James Parker was charging for his bamboo bow blanks at the Classic last year?

Spent Saturday at the camper doing some off-season turkey and deer scouting.  I found a nice smallish tree, think it's hickory, to chop down with the camp ax.  Spent most of Saturday evening roughing out a bow and making a super-sexy walking stick from it.  Hung my hammock and swayed in the 70 degrees temps in between chopping sessions.  There might have been a cigar involved  :)
Take a kid hunting!

Bad news in my shop, a very important tool bit the dust yesterday. The beer fridge died. No shame for it, it's 12 years old. The burial service is tomorrow morning when the garbage truck hauls it away. The new and bigger fridge will be here Friday.
RIP ole friend.
