I punished a hickory bow that wouldn't behave, I got tired of fooling with it.

Just think, deer tenderloin cooking over a hickory bow wood laced fire.

But his bow will remain steady, and his hands will be skillful; because of the hands of the Mighty One of Jacob, because of the Shepherd, the Rock of Israel,  (Genesis 49:24 [NETfree])

Hah, Eric your firewood would be my best work.   :)

Working on form templates today.  First up is an RD design for some grandkid bows.  Might also scale down to a 48" Bow for the two younger kids.

I like it, it should work well, depending on where the nocks land on it. I'd make the nocks be about 1.5" toward target ahead of back. Kids aren't gonna be too critical of bow speed, but it should at least penetrate gramps' tire, not a complete pass thru, just one sidewall.....

I built a similar looking 50" D/R and here are the specs...

2 -- .030 glass
.003 total taper
14" riser
.240 total stack
24#@22" and 28# @24 (max draw)

I think David Flanrey has the form now....

Pago that is one fantastic looking bow. If it shoots half as good as it looks(I am sure it will shoot every bit as good as it looks) the critters are in big trouble.

Nice Pago. That worked out well in the throat area.
I got another one coming up just waiting on some buffalo hide.
Ziricote and curly riser with some birdseye veneers.
