Can Tru Oil be used on Glass???

I've got a Cocobolo riser long bow with walnut laminations and green glass on the limbs.  The finish is a bit "soft" and show marks super easily and can be scratched and even removed with just my finger nail.  I need to refinish this bow but have a few questions?  

It's Cocobolo so I know I need to do my best with acetone to get any excess oil off the wood, and I know Tru Oil does great with the oily woods.  But my question is can that be used on glass since it's non-porous?  

If not a good option - what is the best rub on or spray can finish for this bow???

Yes, Tru-Oil can be used over glass. It doesn't do well over oily wood(takes forever to dry) but if you spray the wood first with shellac the Tru-Oil will stick to that.

Tru Oil works fine over fiberglass but it does leave a more amber color than most other finishes. Not a problem over green glass I am sure. Pat is right that shellac will help it dry faster, but it also stops the true oil from soaking into the wood. This leaves the finish looking thinner and less beautiful and more prone to flaking off. Here is a bow I did recently with tru oil for your reference. Sorry for the poor pictures.

Don't wipe with acetone as it will take color out of cocobola.

Lots of conflicting information out there on this subject...I seem to be reading a lot that says you should remove the oil from the wood like this before sealing?  I guess that's part of my search and my frustrations is there is so much info on this and it's from one extreme to the other.

Would it be an option to finish just the riser with Tru Oil to get the color and protect/seal the Coco, and then do the glass with a spray poly?

I always add spray satin poly over Tru-Oil on all my selfbows to cut the shine so poly is compatible over Tru-Oil.
