50' style recurve plans or build alongs?
« on: June 25, 2017, 12:33:00 AM »
I'm look to build a 50' style 58" to 60" recurve.
Does anyone have any plans or any build alongs.

I don't know of any 50's style plans. I build a 60" one piece and have in the past built it very similar to a 50's style.  I used 1.5" for the width instead of 1.75 and thinner riser back to belly with a low wrist grip.  They shot just fine and folks seemed to like them.  I would think you could adapt many designs to resemble that type of bow.

This one might be pretty accurate, it was probably written awhile back...

What's the difference between this 50's design and the modern recurve design?
I can tell there's no deflex on the 50's one, how does it effect? (less smoother draw?)
