Who can make a modern copy of a Pearson Bushmaster?
« on: September 12, 2017, 05:32:00 PM »
I am looking for a 2 pc 66" recurve and these bows seem a perfect answer to my problem.

The handle is also offset, which I find really amazing.  It's somethign that Robertson offers in his Wolfer recurve, but Pearson did this in the 50's.

Its seems way ahead of its time and I wonder if anyone can make something similar these days?

Cheers
Alex

Looks more like a hybrid with aggressive tips. Simi working probably static tips. If you had one to trace and measure it could be reproduced.

Hi Mike,

Thanks for the reply.  Unfortunately I do not have one, but I am on the look out for one and I guess it won't be at my ideal weight so a reproduction would be great.

Do you know anyone who would be will and able to make a reproduction?

Thanks

Kirk Lavender has a limb shape similar to that but he don't like building two pc bows...
Well I guess it's up to you, Mike (Crooked)...  I believe you done a few 2pc bows...  :)

I could make you one but it wouldn't be cheap as it would be a 'one off' and require a form making for it. Send me a PM

You should check out Brandon Stahl's new primal instinct . Looks similar to this and would probably be more cost effective

Hi Crittergetter,

I have checked Brandon's website and it says he does not take custom orders anymore.  ALso, his bows are 62" and there is no mention of a 2 pc system.  Unless you  know otherwise?  :)

Cheers

Yes sir, he only does stock bows and they go pretty fast.
I didn't think about the 2 piece option before. Don't think he offers that , sorry about that.

Hi Roy,

Yes, I searched online but had no luck.  **** was my first port of call. I will keep looking.

Crittergitter: No problem, thanks for the suggestion in anycase..  Its a shame that life as a bowyer is not very rich.. Too many are having to quit.
