Poor Man's Table Saw... Take a 2'x 2' piece of 1/2" plywood, get yourself a powerful circular saw, attach it in the middle of the plywood, loosen up the depth screw and do a plunge cut...
I have one of these for ripping small pieces of wood and fiber glass lams and it works great... I don't know how well it will rip Hard Maple though... It's worth a try...
