Roy you still using the hook and loop on your sander? I took mine off and like it a bunch better. Had to reset the pressure rollers though.

Yes, that's the only paper that it takes.

There aren't any of those spring lock things on my drum.

I have no problems with it.

But it's all I've ever had..

How did you convert yours, Mike?

Nope, it's just bow season:)

October through April:)

I normally don't make bows through the summer, too much else to do..

Roy several guys have taken the hook part off the drum. Then use the 3M adhesive in the brown can to hold the paper and still strap tape each end. I had to reset the tension on the pressure rollers and adjust the drum
. I got it less than .002 side to side. Just flip the lam on the last passes to take care of that. I find it is more consistent.

Ok thanks, Mike.

I really don't have any complaints with the job the hook and loop paper does for what I need.

I only replace the paper once a year.

With me making all wood lam bows, my tolerances aren't nearly as critical as you guys making glass bows and getting the stack correct.

Besides them .025, .032, etc thing a mah jigs just mess me up.

Just ask ole Sister McKenzie:)

Glued up a trilam, it is kind of a save, I had made one with bamboo back, Bubinga power lam, elm core and a hardwood that I thought could take the compression. It did not and developed compression cracks. I managed to grind off the belly lam. Today I ground a Lignostone lam on the new tape sled and glued it together, we will see tomorrow if it turned out okay.
Here it is with zipties and clamps, zipties work very well to prevent side slipping.
