Trying to lose weight.
Bow came in about 8# heavy.
Trapped just the back glass and lost about 2#.
Going to go a little further and do glass plus one lam deep.

Well, I made good progress on the bow for the swap.  I also built .001" and .002" taper sleds.  Also a flat sled for parallel lams.

I freaking love this drum sander.  Honestly don't know how I got along without it.  I've built more than 50 bows with my homemade jig, but the 16-32 I bought is a huge improvement.

The next upgrade I'm going to make is a good dust collector.  My humongoloid shop vac can't even begin to keep up with this thing.  After that. I'm thinking a 6 X 89 edge sander...  Hmmm.

I got the Delta shop master dust collector  about 10 years ago use it on my 22-44 it works good and has been flaw less, I took the wheels off and mounted it on the wall !  I put a long hose on it so I can reach every thing I have a small tight shop !
If you fear failure, you will never try ! But never except it!!

Nice looking skull mounts Kenny.  I like the palmation on the center rack.

Sorry about the bow Bue.  That's a bummer.

Today I cut a trail to a big double trunk osage tree that I want to cut.  I didn't bring my big saw so I looked for something smaller to cut.  I found this fallen tree close by.

I got 2 full length sections and one smaller piece.  I should have known something was up when it was this difficult to get a split started.

Every now and then a tree will fool me.  I didn't expect this from looking at the bark.  I'll blame it on the moss.

Looks like there will be some snakey bows in that one, must be interesting to find such a log.
