Test firing with no rest and no sights.  18 yards.  The longest distance I can shoot at home.

Crisp looking bow there Craig...

I am making some headway with the new looking riser...   I got it rough sanded and put a few arrows through her with a crappy tight fitting string...  44.7# @ 28"...     410gr. /191fps...   480gr./181fps...  I'll take it...

I still have to finish tillering her and take a good bit off the tips...  She will come in just under 44#...

Shredd,

I really like how you do your shelf with the groove for the fletching to pass through.  What an excellent idea and a great looking bow!

Thanks Gentlemen...

When I first started shooting the vaned arrows were the cheapest I could get...  They flew like chit so I put a slot in my shelf and been doing it ever since...  Good to have for hunters who shoot vanes in the rain...

Bow is all sanded...  Will fill the wenge grain tonight or tomorrow and then will be ready for finish...

I've been messing around with some plain maple tip wedges trying to to to get contrasting colors.  I was able to get through and through brown by soaking in ferric nitrate solution and today I saturated a pair in tea and then vinagaroon going for ebony and it worked out pretty good.

New riser accent...  This bow is 43#, dark brown back and green belly...  Riser wood is Sheoak, Paduak and Wenge... These are some close-up pics to show off the grain but it just does not pop in the pics like it does in person...  Might post some performance info in future...

Petite?? !!!  You sayin' I make Girlie Bows??  !!!   ;)

I think it's just the pic...  The throat is 1 5/8" or thicker...  I got pretty big hands and it feels chunky...

Got around to getting some numbers on my petite "Girlie Bow"  ;) today...

 Numbers on the latest bow...  43# @ 28".....     410gr -   28" / 189fps     29" / 197fps

                                                                       480gr -   28" /179fps      29" / 187fps

I did not realize it at the time but those numbers are on a 6 1/2" brace height...  I raised it to 7" and lost about 2 fps...

At my draw 31 in. bet the skinny girl would bust 200 fps , the first real bow I made was doing 150 fps and I thought it was a rocket launcher 😃
