I did have one small spot on one of the ramps where there wasn't a real tight glue joint. I put shims in between my hose and pressure strip but I guess I didn't put them in the right position. I'm pretty confident it won't effect the bow since it's not in a working part of the limb. Just another lesson learned.

Looks like a nice piece of osage John.  So what path around that knot did you choose?

Glad you like it Lonnie. I hope I shoots and serves you well. It does real well with heavy arrows, for me it only gained about 12-15fps dropping from a 625gr to 425gr arrow. Which I think its the same speed with the 625gr arrow as my 68# at 27” black walnut English longbow. Though I was barely hitting 27” and it was tillered to 28”. Feel free to send me an honest critique. That’s what I look forward to to help me make future projects better.

Everything is looking good everyone. I don’t think I’ve seen one yet I would be disappointed to see show up on my doorstep.

Made up a blank for the swap bow form.  See, Dave, I'm working on it. :)

Got a string made for my swap bow and braced it up today. Limbs looked good and straight. Came out to a pretty much even tiller.

Well...  I got to open up the package yesterday...  What a Beautiful slim and Elegant bow...     You are right, John...  I am glad that you did not put a leather grip on it...  The Maple is beautiful and I could stare at it all day watching it shimmer as I shift the riser... I also like how you did the tips...  A little too pointy for my taste but very aesthetically pleasing to the eye with nicely blended curves and beautifully shaped...  :clapper:   I only got a few shots through it as I had other things to do...  It seemed to be very quiet, had decent speed and was putting the arrows where I was aiming...  What more can you ask for??  Very, Very Pleased...

Raining Today...  I am sure I will be shooting it when the weather clears up...

Well this Victim is pretty damn Stoked...   :shaka:  Many Thanks,John for taking the time and effort to create this Sweet Stick...  I will be calling you and we can talk a little shop...

I'm glad you like it, Rich.  I bought that piece of maple from a gun stock wood dealer at a muzzleloader show back in early February.  I'm saving the other half of the piece for the next bow I build for myself.  I've built a number of bows with curly maple, but they always seem to end up in other people's hands.

Have fun with it!

Oh man, it's trimmed and tillering out nicely!  Here it is at full brace for the first time and drawn to 18".  Clamp on the end is because I was nervous it would jump the nock.

I don't have any comments on tiller but I'm still one step behind you & watching,  your bow looks nice , I ended up at 1 3/8 on width due to a riser issue so well see on weight !

Wenge is beautiful and this one I filled with EA 40 and acetone mixed 50/50.  Usually the grain is very open  but this one went very easily. I've tried to fill with finish but that doesn't work as easily as this time...

How did you apply the Ea40?
How long does it take to dry before sanding and finishing?

Been using CA, which works, but takes a lot of coats for deep pores.
