Well, I got home today and guess what! I had a long box leaned up against the house under the porch! I recognized the box right away and couldn't believe what I was seeing! All I can say is I'm in awe! I was wondering where I was gonna get a good box to mail my victims bow! Now I got one!

Upon further inspection, the box contained one of the prettiest forward handle longbows I've ever put in my hand. Kenny, I'm not just saying that. I'm truly unworthy! I've had one custom bow built, and I've shot many more, and this bow you've built absolutely blows me away! I'm forever grateful! I will try to get some good pictures up soon! Wouldn't you know it, I tried taking pictures with my phone but apparently there was a memory issue and I couldn't take pics, so I had my son take a full draw pic.

Kenny, thank you! I look forward to spending many hours in a tree admiring that bow!  By the way, the grunt call is pretty awesome too!

Dannon, you are quite welcome, I’m glad you like it, it is technically a test bow!! LOL

BTW , you anchor a lot the same as I do. Except I stick my thumb knuckle behind my jawbone.

Roy , I don’t get much done but I try to be nice...  :biglaugh:
Stay sharp, Kenny.

Dannon, I guess he's ok..

Ole Kenny and I have been poking each other in the ribs for years in here.

All in fun though.

I also have one of his long bows and it's a sweet fast shooter.

Just out of curiosity, do you all scuff sand your glass before clear-coating?  If so, is 400-600 grit acceptable?

Yeah, you pretty much have to.  The manufacturer puts some kind of coating on it which is very resistant to other things adhering to it.

I typically sand to 400 grit if it's getting a gloss finish.  220 grit if matte.  Wipe it down with acetone then spray the clear.

My recipient’s bow launched a bunch of arrows today. Needs final sanding and finish now. Out next week, so maybe finish up memorial weekend.

Clarification Needed:

This is my first swap.  Do we post pics of the bow before shipping or is the victim supposed to post the pics once they receive it?

Preferably both. Just don’t give it away in your pics. (Ie cover up the name and specs if written on the bow.)

I thought posting a full draw pic of the bow you received was part of rules?

YEP..

UPON RECEIPT:
You need to post some pictures. Your bowyer may post the most beautiful pictures in the history of bow porn prior to shipping, but that doesn’t remove your obligation to post at least one full draw pic with your new bow. I don’t want to hear any excuses about camera batteries in a sock drawer. Find a teenager somewhere to take a picture for you if necessary, or call me and I’ll see if we can get the posse to visit and help you out.
