Bow Shop Fun Today
« on: February 06, 2018, 03:49:00 PM »
Spent the day in the shop getting dusty. First coat of tung oil on the bow with the 31.5" draw..

I guess it's ok. Not my bow so I don't care..   :)

Tim finished his first bow today.
We lost the first one from a couple months ago.

Held the reflex very well, this is after tillering is all done.

I got another bow laid out and ready to glue up..

Hi Mitch..   :)

Excellent work Guys!! But the title is misleading, shop fun, I was expecting to see beer cans and police tape.
Life is to short to pass up anything that could potentially be bow wood!

what i love best about young Roys bows, is how they look like a perfect bend thru the handle bow at full draw- due to the unique riser that is used-
 i just love that profile
pity i only have a 26" draw

The bow drawn in the photo and on the tillering tree in the video is only drawn to 26 inches.  That is my draw length too.

Second coat of tung oil. Two more coats should be good.

That's pretty enough, to almost make me want one instead of my usual recurves.

Too bad you don't make that with deep recurves, Roy!

I have, Ken. But the deep reflex is a bugger to tiller with a wooden bow.
