Throat radius??
« on: February 24, 2018, 12:18:00 PM »
These may seem like simple questions, but here goes.
How do you layout your grip throat?
Center of radius @ center of bow?
Do you use same radius above and below centerline?
Does diameter of throat radius effect accuracy/torque?

I’ve always used a tighter radius than the layout pictured. My thought is that a more open throat will reduce issues with torquing, but may make it harder to get a consistent grip.

*How do you layout your grip throat?

Pretty much like you have there, shelf starts at 1.125" above centerline.

*Center of radius @ center of bow?

Yes

*Do you use same radius above and below centerline?

About like you drew, the bottom comes out of radius pretty quick.

*Does diameter of throat radius effect
accuracy/torque?

Doesn't seem to to me anyway. The bow naturally goes down in your hand either way.
Stay sharp, Kenny.

I always use I think a 1 1/4" dia. circle for my throat, that what most Oly grips are so I figure I can't go wrong.
