Bow started out at 62#. Wanting to be in the 50-55# range.
Here’s what I’ve done so far. Trapped the back at about 45 degree angle thru the glass and one lam. The lam is a .002 taper, so the limbs are trapped more at the handle and less at the tips. This dropped about 4#.
I’ve also sanded the glass(.040) enough to get the sheen off, then a few additional passes. This dropped an additional 1#.
I’d like to get another 2-3#. I don’t want to trap the back any further, as the next lam is a different wood and don’t want to expose it on the back.
Suggestions? My current plan is to sand the glass a little more to hopefully drop another 1-2#. Anything else I can do?
