S-quad
« on: March 15, 2018, 07:39:00 PM »
Even though it’s not completely done, I couldn’t wait to share. Sprayed the finish on today, but it ended up too glossy. So I’ll give it a couple days give it a light sanding and a quick shot with a little more flattener added to the mix. This was my first attempt with auto clear in the HVLP. Not bad, but not great.

So anyways here it is. The S-quad.
Super Short Super Sport 54” hybrid
I’m waiting on a new digital scale to arrive so I can run some tests on it, but really like how it feels. You’ll have to wait for some braced and full draw pics. Didn’t get any before finish. And well, now the finish is still too soft to string.

Thanks for all the kind words guys. I’m super proud of this one as its my own design. I’ve modified the form twice to get it where I want it.
You’ll have to wait on the data, but here are braced and full (28.5”) draw pics as promised.

Those pics yesterday didn’t do the riser justice. The riser is black locust from kenny. The walnut is a piece of crotchwood I cut early last spring. Should also mention the limbs are black locust with walnut cores from kenny as well.

Nice looking bow! Beautiful chatoyance in that piece of walnut. I bet it moves all over in the sunlight.
