If you have an immediate need to post photos, email them to me and I will post them. But I highly encourage you to figure it out for yourself. Just remember to resize them to less than 600 pixels wide.

Not to split hairs, but 600 pixels wide is the maximum that the info on posting photos sets.

I have been trying for the better part of two days to post photos.I have been wanting to for two years. I read everything available on photo bucket and on Tradgang and still cannot figure it out.

Before submitting a story and photo, I wanted to test it and there is absolutely no way that I can. I tried emailing a photo to myself through photobucket and when it arrives I click on the link and it says that my photo has been moved or deleted. I give up. I wasted enough time.

Seriously, I just want to let the people who run this site know that this is a major problem. I am sure that there are many others who feel the same way. I will continue with Tradgang but I will never try to post a photo or contribute a short story since I can't include a picture.
May your next adventure lighten your heart, test your spirit, and nourish your soul.

Ken,

Do you have photos that you can see in your photobucket account? If so, just put your cursor over the photo you want. You will see a window popup  near the bottom of that photo. Click with your left mouse button on the one that says IMG then click with your right mouse button and select copy.  Then come here and start a message and then where you want the pic, right click with your mouse button and you will see the IMG code pasted in the message. Click on preview post below your message and you should see the photo in the message. Just be sure to resize the photo so it is less than 600 pixels wide.  Give it one more try.

Greg,
I am not quite so grumpy this morning. Thanks for the straight forward advice.
Yes, I can upload photos to photobucket and they appear on the screen. Where my problem is/was posting them on my Tradgang message. I didn't know how to test and I didn't trust myself to send it and then finding out that I messed up. I kept trying to do it on email to test and it always failed. You explain very well and I appreciate it. I will try again when I am not so busy.

Rob,
I figured out how to resize and to edit photos in photobucket on the first day. Because of my camera settings and the way I have stored my pictures in my computer, I couldn't find a way to make them 640 before I put them in photbucket. According to the description in photobucket, they are 640 at the widest now though. Do you think that means everything is o.k.? Does it affect something if I edit the picture?

Having spent pretty well a lifetime in the north bush country hunting, fishing, and trapping, and actually earning my living by my wits in the bush, it seems to me that the hi tech world operates under a different kind of logic. It can be very frustrating. They say you can't teach old dogs new tricks but at least I am trying.
May your next adventure lighten your heart, test your spirit, and nourish your soul.

if the properties of any image show the first number as 640 or less, yer good to go.
