Computer help: I am an idiot

Guys- can you tell me how some of you bring down a quote from a previous post on a thread then comment on that part of the quote?

Does that make sense.  I have no idea how you guys do that.

straight over from your avitar ,at the end of the symbols are 2 quotation marks.

click on those.

Click to start new message then hit the quotation marks.  Then you can add what you want to the post.

You can also just delete any parts of the quote you want.
