3D scorekeeping APP
« on: February 28, 2013, 03:46:00 PM »
The app is called iShoot 3D Archery.  It is really nice app it keeps your score and  also gives you shot placement pictures.  There is several updates coming for it.  Once you purchase it (4.99) all the upgrades are free.  One of the biggest upgrades coming is allowing you to keep score for multiple shooters instead of just one like you can do now. I did not have it last weekend but will be nice for future shoots.  I do not believe you will be able to use it in competition because I believe cell phones are illegal.

I don't worry about keeping score anymore.  When I did, I just used a good old pencil and paper.
Didn't cost me anything as the club supplied them.

Sounds like a cool app. I've never heard of cell phones being "illegal" at 3D shoots.

Is the app available for iPhone and Android?

i'd heard that cell phones are not illegal at shooting events, they just need to have their ringers turned off - for obvious reasons.  :)

I believe they are only illegal at the major events.  Not at local events.  I believe it is because if I have already shot a target I can text the yardage to a buddy that has not shot it yet and give him an advantage.

I copied this from the IBO rules.

"Using a cell phone on the shooting range. Cell phones are only to be used when the group
decides there is an emergency requiring such use. Upon entering a range, all cell phones are to be
switched off.
