I hope this doesn't come across in an ugly way because that is not my intention. I know a lot of people who are truly hurting and upset about the PhotoBucket scandal.
Yes, it was low down and dirty for PhotoBucket to do that to us, but I have never seen a free service like theirs remain free and continue to operate for an extended period of time. We as users need to be more aware that this could happen with any free (or paid even) service that we use.
This is why I have started uploading images to my own website server and then use the [IMG] UBB Codes to post images to forums. This way I have control over my images as long as I pay the hosting fees, which can be as little as a few bucks a month. And by "a few bucks", I mean literally $2 or $3. If you care enough about your images staying online, it is worth it.
My favorite web host is SiteGround. There is also Bluehost and HostGator. I don't recommend GoDaddy. They have too many issues currently.
So, you just purchase a domain name (
www.yourname.com). You can do this through any of the web hosts. Then you can set up a WordPress website on the server. Once that is done, you can upload your images and post them using the links. You can literally be up and running in under 30 minutes. I can do it in about 5 minutes, but I've done this for years. :D
If you have the mental capacity to figure out how to use another service like imgur (which most everyone here does), then I recommend going this route.
If you need any help along the way, feel free to PM me. I will be happy to point you in the right direction. I do build websites for a living, but I don't mind giving away information to help someone with this. I can't do all the set up for you, but I can give you resources to help.
