First tom of the year
« on: April 07, 2010, 10:33:00 PM »
Shot this old boy at about 15yrds using a Samick Stingray and Goldtip arrows and a Magnus head. He didn't make it 20 yards before he was done.

No blind, can't stand to be in one. Just tucked back in the shadows with a very slow draw. That's why I picked up this bow. It's only 45lbs and easier to draw slowly and hold if need be.

Nice job of putting some meat in the pot! I hate blinds also....but it sure is hard to do on those old birds. Way to go, buddy!

Did you call him in or did he come to feed or decoy? I've found that you need to distract them if you can. Either way, great bird. Congratulations.  :archer2:
