first trad kill ever!
« on: June 17, 2010, 07:45:00 PM »
finally my first trad kill ever! i finally feel like a trad bowhunter. date 6/18/2010 time 5:06 pm,bow was a browning wasp 45# @28, ams fishing reel 29inche fibeglass arrow tipped off with a muzzy gar easy release. i was bowfishing a little creek in sand springs i like to call the "honey hole" i have pulled a couple of carp and a snake out of it before. this week had been filled with so the core decided to flood the river. naturally this little honey hole of mine fills up fast. i had been there about an hour walking up in down the creek looking for gar to surface and checking the weeds for carp. i started to make my way back to the truck i decided to camp out on a large lump of rocks and thought i might see something. a cople of gar rolled a few times way to far to shoot.after about thirty minutes or so i looked down in front of me and BOOM! there was before i knew it i had my arrow fling in his direction. slam splash and a russel in the mudd there it was my trophy in all its glory. i do believe i can call my self a traditional bowhunter now...or at least a traditional bowfishing man.

Very awesome!!  Hitting those skinny gar is tough, not long and you'll be chasing deer.   ;)
Just one more step please!
