I finally got my bull elk with my longbow 9/17/2010. I wanted to thank all of you who knowingly or unknowingly helped me get myself up to speed for this challenge over the last 4 years. I cannot express my gratitude or the emotion of completing the challenge. I disappeared from the forum last winter after destroying my left shoulder snowboarding and feared even being able to shoot my bow at all.

Bull was taken at 7'30am at 30 yards quartering away on a misty Montana morning. Walked away and fell down at 70 yards, got up and walked out to about 200 yards feeding when he expired. My arrow broke off after lodging under the opposite shoulder, severing the vessels off the heart.
I prepared to bone out the animal and pack it out in two trips, that may work on a cow but I will never do that on a bull again! Likely carried near 110 lbs pack each trip. The pack did a great job overlaiden as it was and all my gear performed to and beyond expectations.
Thanks again!
