Gotta love the mulie rut...
« on: November 27, 2011, 08:16:00 PM »
Been nursing an injury from a horse wreck back in Sept and have barely been able to shoot a bow till the past couple weeks. Then the weather was terrible during the whitetail rut so it's been a tough season for me. Mostly I was keyed in on a nice whitetail I've been watching for three yeas and been close to several times but he always seems to out smart me. Saw him once over a month ago and nothing since... In the mean time a couple of decent mulies moved in and started pestering the local doe herd. With one day left in the season the temptation was too much yesterday afternoon. This guy needed another year to grow but it was a blast spending three hours crawling thru the snow, sage brush and boulders sneeking up on him then the opportunity was there and I couldn't resist...  Gotta thank Walt Francis for this dandy longbow pulling about 50# at my draw, sweet shooter for sure.

Arrowed this whitetail doe back in early in Sept before the horse wreck...
